Flat offset printing using ISO-12647 standards
CEGEPRINT has it own state of the art teams in offset and digital. All of these teams are renovated and updated on a continuous basis in order to guarantee the best quality and productivity at all times. Our teams are connected directly to preprint, they abide by ISO standards of color reproduction and colorimetric measurement systems Axis controls throughout the entire time printing.
Offset printing is a method of reproducing documents and imagesonpaper or similiar materials, which began a the beginning of the20th century, which consists of applying anink, generally oil-based, on a metal sheet, made of two types of aluminum. It is a process similar to lithography. Thesheet absorbs the ink in the areas where there is a oil absorbing compound and the rest of the sheet is hydrophilic (zone hydrophilic) which absorbs water and repels the ink; the image or text is transferred by pressure from a rubberblanket, to transfer it, finally, to the paper by pressure.
Thepress is called offset because the is transferred to the printing plate to the rubber roller, before printing it onto paper. This term arose in contrast to the prior dominant system that waslithography, in which the ink is transferred directly to paper.
This is precisely this characteristic that produces theexceptional quality of this type of printing, because the rubber print roller is capable of soaking, with the ink it has stuck to it, rough surfaces or irregular textures. Obviously, this is due to rubber's elastic properties that metallic roller just do not have.
